Meet Christina J. Ansted, MPH, CCMEP of Rapid Commercialization Partners
Meet our spotlight member of the month, Christina J. Ansted, MPH, CCMEP. Christina is a force to be reckoned with in the biotech industry. Her career journey, spanning over a decade, has been one of evolution, growth, and rising to the top of her field. Christina began her career in medical communications/continuing medical education (CME), working with pharmaceutical clients and key opinion leaders (KOLs) on content development and educational programming to educate physicians on gaps and unmet needs in clinical care.
However, Christina's true talents were soon recognized, and she transitioned into a global commercial role in biotech. Here, she was able to leverage her medical communications experience to support medical marketing efforts across hematology, nephrology, metabolics, enzyme replacement therapy, and gene therapy for rare diseases. Throughout her career, Christina has worked on roles with increasing responsibility and has been a part of small start-up biotechs, going on to be a critical part of acquisition and eventually co-founding Rapid Commercialization Partners.
If there's one thing that Christina can offer as advice to anyone hoping to achieve a leadership or executive role in the future, it's that being flexible and open-minded is key. She encourages people to take every opportunity to learn and listen, and most importantly, know that being a leader doesn't mean knowing everything. Building a strong team is essential, and having individuals with diverse skill sets helps provide strategic guidance, vision, and support.
Christina has also been a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her approach to building a network is centered around sharing professional experience and advice, providing recommendations and references, and having a reputation centered around ethics and integrity. She believes that casting a wide net, being agnostic to what someone looks like, and being more concerned about their talent, personality, and integrity can build a high-performing team of professionals from diverse backgrounds.
Christina Ansted's career has been a true testament to her vision, passion, dedication, and her ability to continually evolve in a rapidly changing industry. She is a trailblazer in biotech, and her contributions to the field have been nothing short of remarkable.
