Rising Leaders Program
Transitioning Effectively into a New Role
As you transition into a new role, either in the same company or a different company, it is important to be intentional about how to be successful in the new role. The new role may require managing more people, a higher budget, cross functional teams or a similar level of responsibility in a new environment and company culture. Regardless of the amount of change, it is always difficult to go from a position where you have an established pattern to a new role that may need you to demonstrate new skills or leadership traits.
According to a study conducted by the Center for Creative Leadership, approximately 60 percent of new leaders succeed within their first 18 months in the role.
